With age comes the loss of collagen and elastin in the skin, causing fine lines and wrinkles and sagging. PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) is a collagen and elastin stimulating treatment to combat the signs of ageing.
The procedure involves the drawing of your own blood and then removing your plasma with centrifusion. The Platelet Rich Plasma is then re-injected or rolled back into your skin, causing your own growth factors to stimulate the fibroblast to produce collagen and elastin, at an accelerated rate. The skin is numbed before the procedure and discomfort is minimal, if at all. Redness and minimal swelling can be experienced for 24 - 72 hours after treatment.
You can expect visual improvement in texture and skin tone from 3 weeks, gradually improving over time. For best results, treatment should be repeated every 6 months.

Advanced wrinkling cannot be reversed and a minimal improvement is predictable in persons with tobacco, alcohol and drug usage.
